In the "Encyclopedia of Bass Logic" Rudi Weeks had compiled an impressive wealth of information which musicians and teachers alike will find invaluable. As a Music Medicine specialist, I was particularly impressed with the chapter 'Playing the Bass'. This section emphasizes proper anatomical positioning, biomechanics and imparts an excellent understanding of overuse injuries. This book should not only give players insight into Rudi's superb technique but, as importantly, the tools to prevent injury so that the technique can be fully realized without the downtime that accompanies injury. Bravo for 'Bass Logic' !-

"Thanks Rudi- every word was true! I really was impressed by your approach-many of the same things I've been telling to patients for years-like exercises to discover the minimum force to obtain a clean note ,etc". ...

"This book is like a complete guide to everything bass"... ... "If your looking for the all-in-one bass book, this text should last a lifetime."

The Encyclopedia of Bass Logic is an amazing resource for bass players (and teachers) on all levels, from beginners to advanced pros. I'm especially impressed with the way you have integrated technique, theory, and real "in the trenches" information that every gigging bassist needs to know -- and the way you have consistently stressed that playing music
should be both fun and artistically satisfying. My favorite section is "World Scales," which I found fascinating. Not only is it a unique creative resource (especially for solos) but it emphasizes the universality of the musical experience. All I can say is: Great job, Rudi!

"Man- your book is very impressive. So much great info, well presented."

"Rudi Weeks has written a massive compendium of electric bass concepts. The most notable attribute of this book is Weeks' perspective and approach applied to the finer elements of bass playing. The Encyclopedia of Bass Logic easily contains the information of 4 or more average bass books in a single volume, making it a great addition to any bass library."

Hi Rudi! I just wanted to let you know that I received your book a few days ago. Congratulations on such a fine piece or should I say pieces of work. Your book has information even an old pro like myself can learn from. I cant wait to try some of your ideas on my students. All I can say is that I wish there had been some type of book available in my early years to learn from.

Thanks!
Edgar

I would like you to know how impressed I have been using your book. I wish I had a copy 3 years ago, before I started using bad mechanics and developed periodic wrist and hand problems. I've never seen a book that covers this area in as much depth (if at all!)

Your book blew us away. It's scope was tremendous. Scales from cultures around the globe?? Wow. The book was as ambitious an endeavor as I have seen in instructional manuals. Great for beginners or seasoned musicians. Very readable. Amazingly comprehensive. It was the equivalent of a doctoral dissertation, really. Who is your agent? It appeared to be self-published. What are your distribution plans?? Have you sent inquiry letters to MelBay?? Or any big time music publishers? Do you have an editor with marketing contacts? Lots of potential, as I see it.

I have my own company in contract sales and marketing. So you see, I notice a salable product when I see one.

Thanks Rudi- every word was true! I really was impressed by your approach-many of the same things i've been telling to patients for years-like exercises to discover the minimum force to obtain a clean note ,etc. I'd love to sing with the band again some time-i may be away the 24th as it's memorial day weekend-but for sure another time- i've been playing guitar for over 40 years but have only been studying bossa Nova with Harry becker (of Bill Cumpiano's guitar shop) for 7 mos. I learn the Potugese lyrics to all the guitar pieces -i had a tutor who was a student at Smith from Brazil- there
are so many graet numbers.. let's stay in touch
